Stuffed Animals

A few nights ago, my husband posted this on his facebook account:

Went to check on the boys before going to bed. Noticed Sleepy''s bum had grown to 400% it's normal size. Decided to investigate. Found one Appa, one Home Hardware bear, two Ninja Turtles and 3 sookie blankies in his pants. Makes sense.

And just to put it all in perspective! I took a picture of his PJ pants with just 1 of the teddies the next morning.   It's shocking to think he was fast asleep wearing these "stuffed" pants :-)

All in a 1 Months Pay

So Happy announced that when she grows up she's going to open a bakery called "Mom's Recipes" She then told the other girls that she would hire them for $100.00 a month. Both Bashful, and Sneezy accepted the job positions, while drooling over the enormous paycheck. Later in the day the boys found out about Happy's generous offer, and she hired them too...lol 

Not to be outdone, the boys announced they were going to open a hunting store, attached to the bakery. 

& To make it all more fun, both stores are going to be on a yacht.

Bashful  “Did you know that some job’s only have 1 piece of celery?”

Happy “Really”

Bashful “Yes, because they say you can have a raise in celery, so then they will give you two pieces of celery for lunch instead of one....watch out for jobs like that Happy”

Happy “I didn't know they did that...I read about salary one time, and didn't know what it meant, I will not get a job like that”

30-Before-30 #26 Watch Northern Lights with my husband again

:-) This is probably the second most exciting task on my 30-before-30 that I've completed (I will post what so far has been the most exciting one to be completed at a later time)

At just after 11PM my husband was tying the dogs out before going to bed...when he looked up in the sky and saw lights...not just any lights Northern Lights...in our back yard ~ just to put this in perspective we live in the city :-)  So we quickly woke all 4 kids still in their PJ's (thankfully it was a really warm night) and we headed North of the city to do some observations :-)  We didn't have to go far to realize that this was a spectacular light show.  The grid gravel road was lined with vehicles parked, and cameras mounted everywhere...so we found a secluded spot, pulled over and watched!  Wow is all I can say, they were BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Now as a disclaimer...I am not a photographer...but I tried...and even with my grainy photo's I think you can get a glimpse at how bright these lights were, a couple of the photo's you can see just a ting of colour (other than green of course)

The light show completely surrounded us!   We just stood in awe of God's creation!

 That's my husband looking in the Bright sky...the light's in the distance are the city, so you can tell we really didn't go far out!

A good friend (Heather) posted this on my facebook wall today:

So I just saw that drinking 1-3 cups of coffee a day helps to retain memory!!! Yours must be amazing!!!;)

I wonder if it's actually true???

30-Before-30 #23 Ride a Roller Coaster and let go of the Bar

Ok...so a little back ground here....I only rode my first roller coaster 11 years ago on my honeymoon.  It freaked me out at the time (and looking back it really wasn't that spectacular of a roller coaster)

Since then, Michael and I have ridden any roller coaster we have had the opportunity to go on...slow, fast, twirling, upside down...ect....But I hadn't had the courage to let go of the bar.

Of course I've always known that I'd be fine if I let go, because tons of people on these roller coasters ride with their arms in the air while I cling on for my dear life :-)  So I made it one of my 30-before-30, in hopes that it would motivate me to let go.

So while on vacation last week, we spent an entire day at the Mall of America amusement park.

So I decided to start easy, and my first roller coaster of the day was this one...the PEPSI® ORANGE STREAK I got on this ride and raised my hands in the air the whole time...even on the slow stuff...because well I wanted to 100% pass this 30-Before-30 goal!

We then rode the other roller coasters at the park (and all the rides that were not babyish)....however I didn't initially have the courage to let go...till near the end of our time there. Finally on the LOG CHUTE  I let go of the sides and plunged into the watery spray.  That was lots of fun!  (side note, I've been to this amusement park twice now, and the Log Chute is by far my favourite!!!)

Finally on our 2nd to last ride of the day, a ride we had taken countless times throughout the day.  My friend Heather and I decided to raise our hands half way through the ride...it was so much fun, that we got back on for one final time, raised our arms before taking off, and only put them down when the ride ended!!! It was awesome, and a major adrenalin rush!  So here's the twisty twirly ride (very similar to one at the West Edmonton Mall) The FAIRLY ODD COASTER

PS....  We also rode this ride...all my kids were tall enough to get on this one, and they all went on it...including my 6 year old... this ride was a blast!!!!!   Especially for my 8 year old thrill seeker Happy!  This is called the AVATAR AIRBENDER

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

So I saw that another site was doing something about madlibs right now, and it inspired me to find some madlibs to do with the kids this Christmas.  Well I stumbled across this online madlib site, and enjoyed filling in all the nouns/verbs ect....  Then I laughed as I read the results (apparently I'm an elephant ~ read below)

I'd encourage you to all go and make your own "special" 'Twas the Night Before Christmas @ Crazy Tales  They also have many other madlibs to choose from like Green Eggs and Ham...ect.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

'Twas the hour before Christmas, and all through the nest,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a chicken.
The socks were hung by the couch with care,
In hopes that St. Michael soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their chairs,
While visions of sugar-cookies danced in their teeth.
And aunt in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the piano to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
danced open the shutters, and clapped up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave the luster of mid-year to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear?
But a smooth food processor, and eight tiny elephants.

With a little old driver, so lively and dry,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Michael.
More rapid than monkeys his elephants they came,
And he whistled, and juggled, and called them by name;

"Now, Dasher! Now, Melodie! Now, Screwdriver and Vixen!
On, Lady! On Dog! On, Hat and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! To the top of the calculator!
Now convulse away! Convulse away! Convulse away all!"

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof,
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the couch St. Michael came with a bound.

His eyes -- how they twisted! His dimples, how damp!
His ears were like books, his arm like a roast!
He spoke not a word but went straight to his work,
And filled all the socks, then turned with a jerk.

And laying his neck aside of his foot,
And giving a nod, up the couch he rose.
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a honk,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good hour!"
-- "'Twas the Night Before Christmas," corrupted and abridged.

Attempting Blog Giveaways

A few weeks ago I re-entered the blogging world... I had stopped for about a year due to a privacy concern.  But I decided I missed the fun of blogging, and deleted everything from before and started over. 

With this new start, I decided that I would try entering a blog giveaway for the very first time.  I was sceptical about winning... I mean there are a lot more people out there blogging than me, and really what are the chances that I would win anything????  But I decided to enter my first give away...and then I realized that it’s kind of fun entering a giveaway for something that you want!!!  Perhaps I'm just easily amused...but I genuinely found it exciting!!  So I ended up entered 3 different ones...

 So I checked the first giveaway still sceptical...and of course I didn’t win, but still I smiled, the reality was that a lucky blogger had actually won something, and that is soooo cool!!!!

Last night I checked on another entry that I had tried for, and there was no post about it...because I’m new at this thing...it took me awhile to realize that bloggers often put a new post about the winners, and that it’s not actually on the post about the originally giveaway. lol... I know I’m new at this J

So this morning, after teaching the kids their Bible class, I thought I’d check again for a post about that give away ~ This time, I went to the home page of the blogger, (see I'm learning) and sure enough a post about the winner, with the true random number generator...I read #38 and thought well I’m sure that isn’t me.   You should have seen my reaction when I scrolled down and read “melodiejoy”  she even posted a picture and link to my blog!!!!   How sweet is that!!!  The kids were all looking at me like I lost my mind J  And I skipped...yes literally skipped over to my husband’s office to let him know!!!

Oh my goodness I won a Dremel!!!!

I must blog later and let you all know my plans for this toy ~ oops I mean tool J But for now I must go back to teaching some adorable children!!
